GDPR

Information on Personal Data Protection prepared in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”) and Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on Personal Data Protection (hereinafter referred to as the “Personal Data Protection Act”)

Introductory Provisions

AEI – Aeroengineers International s. r. o., with its registered office at Jedľová 8597/2, 821 07 Bratislava, Company ID (IČO): 45371857, Tax ID (DIČ): 2022957640, VAT ID: SK2022957640 (hereinafter referred to as “AEI” or also as “our company”), respects the privacy of all data subjects with whom it is in contact, regardless of whether it processes personal data itself or through third parties.

For our company, it is extremely important that every affected natural person understands which personal data we process about them, why we do so and what their rights are. We may process personal data of data subjects in various ways and in various situations depending on the type of data subject.

In this document below you will find general information such as:

  • identification and contact details of our company (Section 1 of this document),
  • your rights in connection with the processing of your personal data (Section 2 of this document),
  • information on automated individual decision-making including profiling (Section 3 of this document);

Further information on the processing of personal data in your specific case can be found in Section 4 of this document depending on whether you are:

  • a visitor to our website (Section 4.1 of this document) (cookies processing),
  • a newsletter subscriber (Section 4.2 of this document),
  • a client or a prospective client (Section 4.3 of this document).

At the same time, we kindly ask you, on behalf of AEI, to always provide only up-to-date and accurate personal data, which our company will subsequently process. In the event of any change to personal data, we kindly ask you to notify us of this fact without undue delay.

To protect your personal data against unauthorised access and against unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction or damage, both in online and offline environments, we use physical, electronic and organisational measures to prevent such situations, in accordance with our internal personal data protection rules.

AEI has not appointed a responsible person (Data Protection Officer), as our company is not obliged to appoint one in accordance with GDPR and the Personal Data Protection Act.

2. Rights of the Data Subject

If our company processes your personal data, you have, as a data subject, the following rights:

Right to withdraw consent
In cases where we process your personal data on the basis of your consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent at any time. Consent may be withdrawn electronically at the address specified in Section 1 of this document, in writing by notifying the withdrawal of consent (or by another appropriate means). Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of consent prior to its withdrawal.

Right of access
You have the right to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you, as well as information on how we use your personal data. In most cases, your personal data will be provided to you in electronic form, where technically possible.

Right to rectification
We take reasonable measures to ensure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the information we hold about you. If you believe that the data we hold is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated, please do not hesitate to ask us to correct, update or supplement such information.

Right to erasure (right to be forgotten)
You have the right to request the erasure of your personal data, for example where the personal data we have obtained about you is no longer necessary for the fulfilment of the original purpose of processing. However, your right must be assessed in light of all relevant circumstances. For example, we may have certain legal obligations, which means that we may not be able to comply with your request.

Right to restriction of processing
Under certain circumstances, you are entitled to request that we stop using your personal data. This includes, for example, cases where you believe that the personal data we hold about you may be inaccurate or where you believe that we no longer need to use your personal data.

Right to data portability
Under certain circumstances, you have the right to request the transfer of personal data you have provided to us to another third party of your choice. The right to data portability applies only to personal data obtained from you on the basis of consent or on the basis of a contract to which you are a party.

Right to object
You have the right to object to processing of personal data based on our legitimate interests. If we do not have a compelling legitimate reason for processing and you submit an objection, we will no longer process your personal data.

Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe that your personal data is processed unfairly or unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, which is the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27; phone: +421 /2/ 3231 3214; e-mail: statny.dozor@pdp.gov.sk; website: https://dataprotection.gov.sk.
If a complaint is submitted electronically, it must meet the requirements under Section 19(1) of Act No. 71/1967 Coll. on Administrative Procedure.

3. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling

Your personal data will not be used for automated individual decision-making, including profiling.

4. Information on Personal Data Processing by Data Subject Category

The provisions of this Section 4 do not apply to data subjects who have been separately informed in writing by AEI in accordance with Sections 19 and 20 of the Personal Data Protection Act, provided that such information was signed by the data subject, effective from the date of such signature.

4.1 Website Visitor and Cookies Processing

AEI is the controller of the website located at www.aei.sk (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Website”).

4.1.1 What Are Cookies?

If you visit a website (including our Website) that stores cookies, a small text cookie file is created on your computer. A cookie file is a short text file that a website stores in the browser of your computer or mobile device (including a tablet) while browsing. If you visit the same website again in the future, cookies allow, for example, faster connection or enable the website to remember certain information regarding your browsing preferences, browser type, selected website settings, etc.

You can control or delete cookies at your discretion. You can delete all cookies stored on your computer and set most browsers to prevent their storage. Instructions for deleting or blocking cookies can be found on the websites of individual browsers.

4.1.2 Types of Cookies and Purpose of Use

We process cookies for various purposes (listed below), but primarily to display our Website in an optimal way, ensure its proper functionality and align it with your preferences. Cookies for purposes other than those listed below are stored only with your consent.

a) Functional (necessary) cookies
Functional (necessary) cookies ensure functions without which the Website could not be used and ensure, among other things, that when website functions are accessed, the version displayed corresponds to the volume of data appropriate to your internet connection. These cookies also store your decision regarding the use of cookies on our Website. These cookies do not collect information that would allow us to individually identify you as a user. Necessary cookies include cookies used to:

  • ensure data transmission over the internet,
  • provide a service explicitly requested by you,
  • allow the Website to remember choices made on your device and provide enhanced and personalised functions.

b) Analytical cookies
These cookies are used to provide statistical information on Website performance (e.g. number of visits, traffic sources). Analytical cookies can recognise repeated visits from the same device and track your activity. The information obtained helps us evaluate the effectiveness of individual parts of the Website and subsequently improve it.

We use third-party analytical cookies, which are not created or managed by our Website but by third parties. We use cookies within the Google Analytics platform, which uses cookies to analyse visits to our Website. More information is available at:

4.1.3 Consent to the Use of Cookies

When you visit our Website for the first time, a contextual banner explaining cookies will appear. Within this banner, you may choose to consent or not consent to the processing of individual types of cookies (except for functional cookies, which do not require consent).

You may also disable cookies at any time via your browser settings. If you refuse or disable cookies, you will still be able to use the Website, but some features may not function properly.

Please note that in connection with cookies, you also have the rights listed in Section 2 of this document.

4.1.4 Processing Period

Browsing data stored via cookies will be retained for the period necessary for the purpose for which they were collected, but no longer than 2 years.

4.2 Newsletter Subscriber

4.2.1 Purpose of Personal Data Processing

Newsletter subscription – marketing purposes and implementation of our marketing activities, including providing information about our activities, sending newsletters and displaying targeted advertising.

Source of personal data:
Personal data is provided voluntarily by the subscriber via the newsletter contact form located on the Website.

4.2.2 Legal Basis

Our company processes your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you provide by ticking the consent checkbox in the newsletter subscription form on the Website.

4.2.3 Scope of Personal Data Processing

For newsletter subscription, we process the following data:

  • e-mail address.

4.2.4 Categories of Recipients

Personal data is processed directly by AEI in electronic form. AEI may share your data with third parties under the following circumstances:

  • where required by law or court order (e.g. law enforcement authorities),
  • where justified by AEI’s legitimate interest with economically or personnel-linked companies,
  • with external subcontractors providing services such as marketing, consulting, administrative services, data storage and server operation.

In all cases, AEI ensures the highest level of protection and lawful processing of personal data.

4.2.5 Transfer of Personal Data

Our company may process certain personal data via electronic systems and data storage operated by processors outside the European Union. AEI always verifies that such processors ensure the highest level of personal data protection in accordance with applicable legal regulations.

4.2.6 Retention Period

In accordance with GDPR principles, we retain personal data for 3 years from the date of consent. After this period, personal data is deleted. You may withdraw consent to newsletter subscription at any time via the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter or by contacting us using the details provided above.

4.3 Client (or Prospective Client)

For the purposes of this document, a product of AEI means any service provided by AEI and/or any goods sold by AEI.

4.3.1 Purpose of Personal Data Processing

To conclude and perform a contract with you or the company you represent, or to enable you to use our products, it is necessary to process your personal data.

The purpose includes, in particular:

  • conclusion and performance of contracts and related documentation,
  • record-keeping, verification and modification of contractual documents,
  • performance of obligations arising from contracts,
  • accounting.

Source of personal data:
Provided voluntarily by the data subject, obtained from publicly available sources, or obtained from cooperating persons, where lawful and contractually secured.

4.3.2 Legal Basis

Personal data is processed only where there is a legal basis, namely:

  • performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures,
  • legitimate interest of AEI in conducting its business,
  • compliance with legal obligations.

4.3.3 Scope of Personal Data Processing

AEI processes ordinary personal data to the necessary extent, in particular:

  • first name, last name,
  • permanent and correspondence address,
  • company identification data (IČO, DIČ, VAT ID),
  • phone number, e-mail,
  • bank account numbers,
  • signature.

4.3.4 Categories of Recipients

Personal data is processed by AEI in written and electronic form. Data may be disclosed to authorised entities such as courts, law enforcement authorities or executors, as well as to external subcontractors (accounting, tax, legal, IT, hosting services).

4.3.5 Transfer of Personal Data

Certain personal data may be processed via systems operated by processors outside the EU. AEI verifies adequate safeguards in accordance with applicable legal regulations.

4.3.6 Retention Period

Personal data is retained for the period necessary to fulfil the purpose of processing and as required by law. After termination of the contractual relationship, data is retained for the legally required period, or at least 3 years (and up to 10 years where required). In the event of a dispute, personal data is retained for at least 3 years from the final conclusion of the dispute.
